Method 1: Enabling “Network Discovery”

  • Step 1:Click on the Search field available in the Taskbar of your computer.
  • Step 2:Type the “Manage Advanced sharing…” command.
  • Step 3:Now, locate and click on the option Manage Advanced Sharing Settings.
  • Step 4:Now, select the options Turn on network discovery and Turn on file and printer sharing under the Network Discovery and File and printer sharing sections.

  • Step 6:Now, try to stream your computer to the smart TV or any multimedia hardware.

Method 2: Configuring the Cast to Device feature

If the Cast to Device feature is turned off or disabled, you may encounter this problem. Check and enable it by following the instructions.

  • Step 1:Open the Windows Defender Firewall screen on your computer.

  • Step 3:Now, a dialog box titled Allow apps to communicate through Windows Defender Firewall will open.
