Methods To Fix Cast To Device Issues
Method 1: Enabling “Network Discovery”
Step 1:Click on the Search field available in the Taskbar of your computer.
Step 2:Type the “Manage Advanced sharing…” command.
Step 3:Now, locate and click on the option Manage Advanced Sharing Settings.
Step 4:Now, select the options Turn on network discovery and Turn on file and printer sharing under the Network Discovery and File and printer sharing sections.
Step 5:Click the Save Changes button.
Step 6:Now, try to stream your computer to the smart TV or any multimedia hardware.
If the Windows 10 Cast to Device is still not working, try the second method given below.
Method 2: Configuring the Cast to Device feature
If the Cast to Device feature is turned off or disabled, you may encounter this problem. Check and enable it by following the instructions.
Step 1:Open the Windows Defender Firewall screen on your computer.
Step 2:Click the “Allow an app or feature…” option.
Step 3:Now, a dialog box titled Allow apps to communicate through Windows Defender Firewall will open.
Step 4:On the opened dialog box, click on the Change Settings button.
Step 5:Under the Allowed apps and features section, locate and check whether the Cast to Device Functionality option is selected.
Step 6:If not, select it.
Step 7:Save the changes and check whether the Cast to Device not working problem is fixed. If not, try the next method.
Method 3: Enable Media Streaming
Step 1:Open the Windows Media Player window.
Step 2:Expand the Stream menu.

Step 1:Open the Settings screen and click Update & Security.
Step 2:Select Troubleshoot > Network adapters > Run the Troubleshoot.
Step 3:Troubleshoot the network adapter problem by following the prompts displayed on the screen.
