Solution 1 - Removing Conflicting Third-Party Software

  • Step 1: If you have installed any third-party software that might interfere with the Trend Micro Security software, it is better to find the conflicting third-party software on your Windows computer and remove it to resolve the Trend Micro won’t turn on problem.
  • Step 2: Ensure that the previous version of the Trend Micro Security software is not present on the Windows computer. If so, uninstall the older version of the Trend Micro Security software from the Windows computer.

  • Step 6: When you see the ‘Do you really want to remove the security software from this computer’ message in any prompt dialog box, select the Yes option.
  • Step 7: Note down the serial number, select the checkbox next to the ‘I copied my serial number’ option, and click the Uninstall button. After clicking the Yes button, restart the Windows computer.
  • Step 8: Download the latest version of the Trend Micro Security software from its official website.
  • Step 9: After installing the Trend Micro Security software on the Windows computer, launch its main interface.
  • Step 10: Select the Serial Number option on the left panel, click the radio button beside the Paid Version option and type the serial number that you have noted while uninstalling the older version of the Trend Micro Security software.
  • Step 11: Now, click the Next button in the Choose Your Version window. If needed, read and review the ‘Privacy and personal data collection disclosure’ of the Trend Micro Security software.

  • Step 2: Disable the Trend Micro Security software by downloading the SupportTool.zip file.
  • Step 3: Once you extract the downloaded zip file, this file will be renamed as SupportTool.bat.
  • Step 4: Right-click this renamed file, choose the Run as Administrator option, and select the Yes option.
  • Step 5: Click the Uninstall tab and then select the Stop All Components option. This will disable the Trend Micro Security software.
  • Step 6: Now, right-click the SupportTool.bat file and choose the Run as Administrator option.
  • Step 7: If prompted, click the Yes button.
  • Step 8: When the Trend Micro Diagnostic Toolkit dialog window opens on the screen, click the Uninstall tab and select the Start all Components option.
  • Step 9: The Trend Micro Security software will be enabled.
