Run Norton Autofix to Detect and Repair Common Problems

Norton Autofix is a diagnostic tool used to check common problems with your Norton Antivirus software. This tool detects and fixes the problems with your Norton product automatically. Make sure that you are not running Norton Autofix in Windows Safe mode as it won’t work.   • Step 1:On your Windows computer, launch the Norton Antivirus software by double-clicking its shortcut icon on the desktop.

  • Step 2:If the My Norton window appears, click the Open button next to Device Security.

  • Step 3:In the Norton Antivirus main dashboard, click the Help button followed by Get Support.

  • Step 4:Next, monitor the progress in the Norton Autofix window.
  • Step 5:Once the problem is detected and fixed automatically, click the Close button.

  • Step 6:If you have any difficulties with Norton Autofix, click the Retry button after ensuring that you have a stable Internet connection.
  • Step 7:In case of network issues, ensure that you have firmly connected the network cable to the computer's Ethernet port and the router's LAN port.
  • Step 8:If you have connected your computer over a wireless network, verify that you have entered the right wireless settings such as SSID and network key.
  • Step 9:Make sure to check the DSL modem connected to your router.
  • Step 10:Check the Network Proxy settings because Norton LiveUpdate uses your Norton product's proxy settings to get the latest updates. 
  • Step 11:You can also make use of the Network Proxy Settings option in the Administrative Settings window.

  • Step 12:If you find the problem is not with the Internet connection, free up some disk space on your computer and ensure that you have set the correct date and time.
  • Step 13:If you cannot run Norton Autofix to detect and repair common problems, download and install the Norton Remove and Reinstall tool.

  • Step 14:Run the downloaded tool and follow the on-screen prompts to remove the Norton Autofix tool from your computer.
  • Step 15:Restart your computer and reinstall the Norton Autofix tool and check if you can detect and repair the common problems.
