- Step 1:Open the Windows desktop and navigate to the Start menu.
- Step 2:Enter ‘cmd’ in the search box to open the Command Prompt.
- Step 3:Give a right-click on the Command Prompt and select the Run as administrator option.
- Step 4:Alternatively, press Ctrl + R shortcut keys simultaneously to open the Run panel and type cmd in the text box to open the Command Prompt window.
- Step 5:In the Command Prompt window, type the ‘netsh winsock’ command and press the Enter key.
- Step 6:When the Command Prompt prompts you to restart your computer, perform a restart and try to activate the license key for your ESET product.
- Step 7:Also, set the correct date and time for your system to resolve the activation error.
- Step 8:If the problem persists, open the C drive Windows System32 drivers etc on your Windows storage location.
- Step 9:You should log in as an administrator before attempting to resolve the problem regarding ESET error ACT 0.
- Step 10:Check whether the host file contains any text like ‘edf.eset.com’ that is known to be a DNS poisoned entry.
- Step 11:Copy the host file and paste it in a text editor like Notepad, MS Word, MS Excel, etc.
- Step 12:Remove or delete the DNS poisoned entry from the host file and replace it in the original folder.
- Step 13:If the ESET error code ACT 0 remains unsolved, contact our technical support by clicking the Call button available on this screen.
