- Step 1:On your Mac, verify whether you have removed the previously installed antivirus software first.
- Step 2:Next, launch the App Store app by giving a double-click on the App Store icon at the Dock.
- Step 3:If you cannot find it on the Dock panel, open the Spotlight search by pressing the Command + Spacebar shortcut keys.
- Step 4:Type ‘app store’ in the search panel and hit the Enter key.
- Step 5:From the search result, give a double-click on the App Store app.
- Step 6:Type ‘Bitdefender virus scanner’ in the search panel at the top of the App Store window.
- Step 7:From the search result, select the Bitdefender Virus Scanner app and click the Download button.
- Step 8:Wait until the download is complete.
- Step 9:Once downloaded, open the app by clicking its icon.
- Step 10:If prompted to permit access to your contacts, click the OK button in the pop-up window.
- Step 11:Click the Apple menu available at the top-left corner of the screen and select the System Preferences option.
- Step 12:Next, click the Security & Privacy icon.
- Step 13:In the Security & Privacy window, click the Privacy tab.
- Step 14:Navigate to the left-side panel and click the Full Disk Access tab.
- Step 15:Click the Padlock icon at the bottom-left corner of the window and enter your administrator’s username and password (if prompted).
- Step 16:Click the Add icon and select your Bitdefender Antivirus Malware Scanner app from the displayed list.
- Step 17:Click the Open button and finish the installation process with the help of the on-screen prompts.
- Step 18:Once installed, click the Start Scan button on the Bitdefender main interface.
- Step 19:Wait until the scan completes.
- Step 20:Once the virus-infected files are detected, remove them from your system.
